Mar Baselios College of Nursing (MBCN) was established in 2003, located at Kothamangalam, in Kerala. The institute is recognized by Indian Council of Nursing and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science and Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam.

Admission Procedure For B.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility for BSc Nursing Course

1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission (As per University Norms)
2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of:
Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Or Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2), Or an equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks. (as per Indian Nursing Council -lNC norms)
3. Candidate shall be medically fit.

Mode of Admission

50% of total seats will be filled up by the government from the list prepared by the Director, LBS centre (www.lbscentre.org) in accordance with merit and reservation principles followed by government of Kerala from time to time. 35% of the total seats will be filled from eligible candidate by Management Directly in accordance with merit in the qualifying examinations. The remaining 15% of seats may be filled up from eligible students who are children or dependants of Non Resident Indians (NRI)

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Nursing Course

1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of regular degree course in Nursing – (B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Hons). Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing), with minimum of 55% aggregate marks, in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
3. Minimum one year of experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing. One year nursing service/internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc. Nursing can be considered as experience.
4. Minimum one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
6. Relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given as per state government norms.
