Medical Trust College of Nursing, Irimpanam

Medical Trust College of Nursing was established in the year 2002. Since its inception, College has progressively grown its strength and scope. Medical Trust College of Nursing is one of the best Nursing Colleges in Kerala. The College has qualified and experienced faculty. Students at Medical Trust College of Nursing are provided with wide area of clinical practices at Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi and have the opportunity to get hands on experience in super specialty nursing like Cardiac surgery, Cardiology etc.
The college admits 60 students for B.Sc Nursing, 30 students for P.B. B.Sc Nusing, 5 students for M.Sc Nursing and 10 students for Diploma in Critical Care Nursing per year and accredited to the Indian Nursing Council and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, M.G. University, Kottayam, Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and Indian Nursing Council.

Academic program

1. B. Sc Nursing

Eligibility criteria

• Pass in Plus two of the board of HSE of Kerala or equivalent with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together
• Age minimum 17 years.

Students are admitted through merit basis. 50% of available seats are allotted for candidates selected by Government of Kerala

2. P.B. B. Sc Nursing (Full time)

Eligibility criteria

• A pass in pre degree/plus two exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or equivalent recognized by any University in Kerala
• A diploma in general nursing and midwifery course approved by INC

Students are admitted through merit basis. 50% of available seats are allotted for candidates selected by Government of Kerala.

3. M. Sc Nursing (Full time)

Eligibility criteria

• B.Sc Nursing / B.Sc Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an Institution recognized by INC with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
• Only candidates who attended regular full time degree programs will be eligible
• Minimum of one year work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing
• One year internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc Nursing can be considered as one year work experience
• Minimum one year of work experience after regular Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
• Relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given as per the state government norms
• Candidates who got degree from any other state university must produce recognition/eligibility certificate from KUHS on the day of counseling
• Age should not exceed 45 years

Students are admitted through merit basis. 50% of available seats are allotted for candidates selected by Government of Kerala based on the merit of the Entrance examination.

4. Post Basic Diploma in Critical Care Nursing

Eligibility criteria

• Be a registered nurse – GNM/B.Sc or equivalent
• Registration with KNMC at the time of admission
• Possess a minimum of one year experience as staff nurse
• Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalence certificate from INC before admission
• 10 % of seat is reserved for SC/ST candidates. In their absence it shall be treated as unreserved

Selection of candidate shall be on the basis of marks obtained for qualifying exam.
