TKM College of Engineering, Karicode

Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering (TKMCE), the first Government- aided engineering college in Kerala, founded in 1958, was the first government aided engineering institution in the private sector in the Indian state of Kerala. The foundation stone was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the erstwhile President of India on 3 February 1956.
The Department of Architecture was set up in 1985, with an annual intake of 20 students. The fundamental thrust of the department has been to emphasize the practical nature of the profession. The Course equips the students for the profession with its six months training and tenth semester thesis.
Faculty of the department are specialized in Architectural Design, Urban Design, Conservation, Planning, Housing, Building Science and Technology, Construction Management and Transportation Planning. The B.Arch. is a 10 semester course affiliated to Kerala University. This program is recognized by the Council of Architecture and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The candidates seeking admission to this course should have the following basic requirements. The students should have passed the Kerala Higher Secondary Plus two Examination or 12th standard of CBSE, ICSE, VHSE or equivalent there to with 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. Diploma holders with 50% marks are also eligible for admission. 85% of total intake is filled from the Kerala State Entrance examination Rank list and the remaining by the management. All students seeking admission to this course should pass NATA conducted by the council of Architecture.
