St. Joseph`s College of Pharmacy, Dharmagiri College Campus, Cherthala

St. Joseph’s college of Pharmacy, Dharmagiri, Cherthala, was established in 2002 by the St. Joseph’s Hospital Trust which is under the jurisdiction of the Nirmala Province of the Medical sisters of St. Joseph, Aluva. The students are given Pharmacy training in hospitals and manufacturing units. Medical camps are conducted for local patients and the college also offers financial aid to the needy and the sick. The college is at present, three batches of students are studying here. The first batch of B. Pharm. joined in November 2004.

The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and affiliated to University of Kerala. From 2010 onwards the college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).

Admission Details
B. Pharm
A candidate who has passed +2 or equivalent examinations with aggregate 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer as optional subjects will be eligible.

B. Pharm. (Lateral Entry)
A candidate who has passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course of Educational Regulations 1991 under Pharmacy Act 1948 from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year examinations will be eligible. The candidate shall fulfill eligibility before the last date of application.

M. Pharm
A candidate who has passed the B. Pharm. Degree Examination of Kerala University of Health Sciences or an examination equivalent thereto of any other university recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences with not less than a total of 55% marks shall be eligible for admission to M. Pharm. course. The candidate should have undergone B. Pharm. in an institution approved by AICTE & PCI. Candidates those who have passed their B. Pharm. course outside Kerala will be eligible for admission only if their qualifying examination is recognized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences on the date of application/allotment. The candidate shall fulfill eligibility before the last date of application. She/he must be a citizen of India.

D. Pharm
A candidate who has passed +2 or PDC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics as Optional subjects or VHSE with groups A and B or equivalent examinations of any other university recognized by the University of Kerala will be eligible.

Pharm. D
(First Year /Part-I) Course – A pass in any of the following examinations:
(1) 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate for Optional subjects.
(2) A pass in D. Pharm. course with a minimum of 50%marks from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
(3) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examination
