Govt. College of Nursing (GCN), located in Kozhikode was established in 1982. It is the second Govt. Nursing College of Kerala. It is affiliated to the University of Calicut and KUHS.
GCN was started with 25 nursing seats. The B.Sc. Nursing intake was gradually increased to 60. M.Sc. Nursing programme was commenced in the year 1996 with two specialties and an intake of 08 students which was gradually enhanced to 30 with all five specialties.
The college offers excellent clinical training facilities for its students in all branches of nursing specialties. The college conducts various training programmes for staff nurses in collaboration with Indian Nursing Council and State Health department.
The aim of the college is to prepare the students with the knowledge, skill and attitude to function as miswives and provide comprehensive nursing care to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal mothers and newborn babies.
