Co-Operative Medical College, (CMC), Cochin is one among the premier medical institutions in the Kerala state. The college is governed by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education established by the Government of Kerala. The college started imparting high standards of education in medical sciences, in 2000. The college has an intake capacity of 100 students for the MBBS course each year. It was taken over by the government of Kerala as a pure government institution on 11 December 2013. It is now known a Government Medical College, Ernakulam.
The admissions and functioning of the college is according to the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala. Co-Operative Medical College is affiliated to Cochin University of Science And Technology and KUHS, is recognized by MCI. The college mission and vision is to improve the standard of medical education in the state and building out quality Doctors and provide Standard health care to the public at an affordable rate.
