Bishop Benziger College of Nursing is established by the Latin Catholic Diocese of Quilon. Kerala, India. It was founded in 2004 by Most Rev. Dr. Stanley Roman, The Bishop of Quilon. The College is a unit of Bishop Benziger Hospital society, a charitable society which also runs Bishop Benziger hospital, Bishop Benziger School of Nursing and Ozanam Eye centre. The College offers Bachelor Degree programme in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) and Master Degree programme in Nursing (M.Sc Nursing). Bishop Benziger College of Nursing conducts a Bachelor degree course in Nursing of four year duration with an annual intake of 50 students. The course aims at preparing professional nurse graduates who are competent to render qualitative care to patients in all settings.

Bishop Benziger College affiliated to the University of Kerala and Kerala University of Health Sciences. Its approved by the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, Red Cross Road, Thiruvananthapuram and Indian Nursing Council.

Eligibility

B.Sc Nursing

1. Pass in Pre-Degree exam of Kerala University / Higher Secondary (10 +2) examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or equivalent examination approved byKerala University of Health Sciences with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry Biology and English put together. (as per INC norms)
2. Age limit – applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st of December of the admission year. No upper age limit.

Management Quota – 25
Selection to management quota is through the merit list published by the Association of the Managements of Self – Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK). For further details, refer the prospectus of AMSFNCK.

M.Sc. Nursing

1. Successful completion of Four year B.Sc nursing degree course or two year post basic B.Sc Nursing Degree (Regular) conducted by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS)or its equivalent regular program conducted by any other recognized universities.
2. One year experience in any recognized hospital or in recognized school of nursing or in a public health agency after registration as Nurse / Midwife. Or One year internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc nursing course conducted in the state (subject to approval by Indian Nursing Council)
3. Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc nursing (Regular) are eligible to apply for M.Sc Nursing directly.
