Viswajyothi is the lamp of God which brings light to the whole world. It aims to convey glow for the whole world and to bring all to radiance from darkness. “Service of GOD through service of Humanity’ is the driving motto of the Kothamangalam Diocese. Established in the year 2001 as a self- financing Engineering College affiliated to M.G.University, Viswajyothi College of Engineering & Technology has grown manifolds and has earned the reputation as a trend setter in Engineering Education.
Viswajyothi started its function with 135 students and 35 members of staff offering three Engineering Degree courses-B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication and B.Tech in Information Technology. In the year 2005 B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering was also incepted with a change of intake (60 students/Branch) in all branches. In 2006, B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering was also introduced in Viswajyothi with same number of intake. With AICTE approval, Department of Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering started one more batch with an additional intake of 60 students in making the total intake 120 in each of those branches. Viswajyothi is now in the path for offering Post graduate courses in various Engineering fields and Masters in Business Administration. In the year 2010, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was Accredited by National Board of Accreditaion. Further, in 2010, Civil Engineering branch was also incepted.
