Karuna Medical college (KMC), located at Palakkad was established in 2006 by Safe Development Aims Trust as a part of Karuna Institute of Medical Sciences. SDA Trust is a registered Charitable Trust constituted by the Minority community of Muslims of with its headquarters at Karuna Hospital Campus, Melamuri, Palakkad, Kerala.
KMC is approved by MCI, New Delhi and is affiliated to KUHS. KMC offers MBBS course, an undergraduate program in medicine and post graduate courses in Anatomy, physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology and Microbiology.
Karuna Hospital started functioning at Melamuri which is in the heart of city since 1994 in a single campus consisting of 3 acres of land with specialty facilities.
The vision of KMC is to establish as a centre of excellence for providing value-added medical education that combines effective teaching, focused academic exposure, productive research with the aim of training healthcare personnel with professionalism and spirit of love and service to the human being as their hallmarks.
