College of Engineering (COE-A) is located at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. The College of Engineering, Adoor, was set up in October 1995 by the Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala undertaking. The college is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.
The college was inaugurated in 1995 by the Chief Minister of Kerala A K Antony. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING offers 4 years bachelor`s degree courses in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science . Admission to these courses is made through a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the CEE. In these courses the reservation available to different reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India norms
When the college started in 1995, it had a 90-10 breakup of merit and management streams. However, the merit students were required to pay a refundable deposit (at the end of the course) of one hundred thousand rupees which was utilized for infrastructure development in the college.
Admissions are carried out on the basis of the ranks obtained in the All Kerala Common Entrance Examinations, conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. The college follows a 50-50 method of admission from both merit and management streams. A significant amount of students in the management stream is filled by children of NRIs.
