ravancore Engineering College was established in 2002 by Travancore Education Society, Kallambalam. The society was registered in 2001 under Charitable Societies Act of Travancore-Cochin 1955, by a group of visionaries and educationists with the intention of educational uplift of weaker sections. The institute is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to University of Kerala.

B.Tech.

Candidates for admission to the Degree of Bachelor of Technology shall be required to have undergone the prescribed course of study in an institution maintained by or affiliated to the University of Kerala for a period of not less than four academic years and have to passed all the examinations specified in the scheme of study.

Lateral Entry

Lateral entry scheme is approved by Government of Kerala as per GO (MS) No: 156/2002/H.Edn. dated 13-11-2002 in 10% additional sanctioned seats. In order to maintain uniformity among various schemes of diploma holders, AICTE has suggested a state level entrance examination for the selection of meritorious students who passed the diploma with good academic records. AICTE has also suggested conducting remedial courses for diploma holders admitted to degree program through lateral entry for making up their deficiencies. These students will have to successfully complete such remedial courses within the stipulated time.

Eligibility for Admission

Candidates shall have passed diploma in engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or equivalent and must have a minimum of 60% marks for the diploma. The relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SEBC candidates. For candidates belonging to SC/ST community a pass in the qualifying examination will be sufficient.

Selection

State level entrance test for duration of 2 hours will be conducted by the LBS centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram for the selection of candidates for admission.

Candidates shall secure a minimum of 20% marks for the Entrance test.

Selection to 50% of the seats will be done by the Director of technical Education in accordance with the candidate’s rank in the entrance examination and availability of seats in the various categories at the time of counseling. There will be one time allotment by the DTE.

Selection to 50% of the seats will be done by the Management.

M.Tech. Eligibility

Candidates must have a valid GATE score

Candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech in their respective disciplines with a minimum of 60% in aggregate (54% of SC/ST/PwD candidates).

Candidates who have passed passed AMIE / AMIETE with 55% in section B and have a professional experience of 3 years are also eligible.
