Stella Maris College of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI), a self-financing Arts & Science College affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, was established in 2014 with the vision to participate in the national human resource development process through enhancing competence and employability of young rural population by imparting quality education and value systems. Operations of SMCCI are led by Principal Dr. Abraham Daniel (former Principal, Henry Baker College, Melukavu, Pala) supported by a team of qualified teachers and Staff. SMCCI offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate studies in Commerce stream and Human Resources Management under the leadership of eminent Faculty members.
The College maintains constant communication with parents to ensure efforts taken at institution level are followed up at home. Its the policy of SMCCI to conduct Parent Teacher Meeting at regular intervals to assess student performance and corrective action. Director of SMCCI in the HR Management stream in India and abroad, SMCCI has created a Placement Unit to develop and fine-tune the competencies of students to meet the requirement of the Industry and beat the competition. SMCCI also facilitates meeting of students with industry experts at regular intervals. The interaction with practicing Chartered Accountants, Finance Managers, Management Gurus help students to understand the dynamics of the industry and help them to fine-tune themselves to meet the requirements of the Industry for finding a suitable placement
