St. Josephs College, Pilathara was established in 2005 by the diocese of Kannur with a vision to give quality education to youth of Northern Kerala where educational facilities are proportionately seldom. St. Joseph’s college situates in a plot of 10 acres of land adjacent to the Pilathara Junction. This college is owned and managed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kannur. Diocese has two centuries of experience in the field of education in North Malabar. At a time when the educational institutions capable of augmenting the resourcefulness and competitive acumen of the younger generation is conspicuously inadequate in the region, the relevance of such a college is significant.
