St. John’s College, Anchal

The college was established in 1964 at Anchal, Kollam district in Kerala, India and is managed by Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. The College is affiliated to the university of Kerala and accords primacy to education, as enshrined in its motto, Let your light shine before men. St. John’s College is one of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Colleges established and administered by the Major Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram in accordance with the rights of the minority community guaranteed in the constitution of our country.
St. John’s College has an incomparable identity. It is a lighted lamp set on the mountain to illumine generations with insights, to eradicate the darkness of ignorance, poverty and evils; and to pave the way to equip the individuals and the society of a remote mountainous area, with the standards of modern life. This college stands for academic excellence, development of skills and character formation based on the love of God and service of man as modelled in Jesus Christ, with a view to producing “intellectually mature, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired” men and women of India.
