Nirmalagiri College, a minority instution belonging to the Archdiocese of Thalassery was established on 1964 by H.E. Rt. Rev. Dr. Sebastian Valloppilly, the first bishop of Tellicherry Diocese. Instituted under the guardianship of holy mother mary to impart degree education in Arts and science streams, the college now offers 15 Degree Courses in Arts, Science and Commerce subjects including 3 Post Graduate Courses, viz Economics, Physics and Chemistry, and a PG Diploma Course in Nanotechnology funded by the UGC. The college is re-accredited by NAAC (III Cycle) with A grade (CGPA: 3:30) in March 2017.
