Mercy College, Palakkad, is a general degree women’s college located in Palakkad, Kerala. It was established in the year 1965. The college is affiliated with Calicut University.This college offers different courses in arts, commerce and science. Palakkad, a backward district, had only minimum facilities for women’s education.The Institution has soared to enviable heights of eminence and has been reaccredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) at ‘A’ grade. A college exclusively for women was very much the need of the hour. A small contingent of seven sisters from St. Mary’s College, Trichur took up the task of finding the land and means for starting the College. It was their mission and dedication that drew the blue print for a premier educational institution. The College was formally inaugurated by his Excellency Dr.G.C. Allapat, Bishop of Trichur. The College has completed 50 years of imparting quality, value-based education to young women in the area, empowering and training them for the service of God and humanity.
