Mar Thoma College of Special Education (Institute of Speech and Hearing) was established in 2003, is an institution in self-financing sector, recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (Reg No: 8-419/BASLP/18//RCI, 8-419/MASLP/18//RCI) and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science. The college is managed by Kunnamkulam-Malabar Diocese of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church.
BASLP (Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology) course in 2003 and MASLP (Master in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology) courses in 2011 was started at Mar Thoma College of Special Education. The college is located at Badiadka, 20km east of Kasaragod railway station on Kasaragod- Puthur state highway. The college trains students into qualified professionals for the management of communication impairment in people with limited speech and expression.
