Government Engineering College (GEC), Sreekrishnapuram is a premier educational institute established in 1999. It is fully owned by Govt. of Kerala and is under the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala. GEC is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated to the University of Calicut.

Going by academic results, the college is among the top five engineering colleges under the University of Calicut. The institute offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication engineering, Electrical & Electronics engineering and Mechanical engineering. All of the departments in the college have an approved intake of 66 students every year.
