Government College Mananthavady had been a long-cherished dream of the marginalised people of the hill area of Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad District. The college started functioning with Pre-degree III and IV Groups with 80 students in each, in a temporary shed attached to Thonichal Church on 1st September 1981. The College was affiliated to University of Calicut (Now is affiliated to Kannur University) offers one postgraduate programme and four undergraduate programmes. All programmes follow the Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS). Enabling the students to cope with the demands of the contemporary global scenario through effective transaction of the curricular and co-curricular aspects is the primary objective of the institution. The college is focused on the all-round development of the students’ personality through proper education and exposure.
