Government College Kattappana is an arts and science college functioning under the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. It was established in 1977 with the affiliation of Mahatma Gandhi University. The college was accredited with ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in September 2016. The college is recognized under the 2(f) and 12(B) schedules of the UGC act.
It offers five undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes through which about seven hundred students fulfil their higher education aspirations. The college submitted Self Study Report to NAAC for accreditation – cycle I in December 2015. Two new courses, M A Economics and M Sc Chemistry were started in the 2016-17 academic year.
