Catholicate College owes its existence to the innate vision of the greatly lamented H.H Baselios Geevarghesse II, the Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Church and H.G. Puthencavil Geevarghese Mar Philoxenos, the then Metropolitan of Thumpamon Diocese. The college had the prayerful guidance of H.G.Daniel Mar Philoxenos, the first principal of the college, and who later became the Metropolitan of Thumpamon Diocese.
The college upholds the motto “The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” with the vision ‘To create an educated enlightened society for a brave new world’. The college secured christain minority institution status on 2012 from the Govt of India.
