A.V ABDURAHMAN HAJI ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE is a self-financing institution affiliated to the University of Calicut. It was started in 2002 under the name ‘’ Meppayur Salafi Arts and Science College’’ and was renamed in 2006. The college aims at imparting front line higher education with a moral background to the students especially those who come from educationally and social backward areas.
The college is situated in Thurayur Panchayath on a beautiful hillock overlooking Kittiyadi river, nearly 7 km north east of Payoli town. The quiet and serene natural setting away from noisy town but easily accessible due to ample transportation makes the place congenial for the physical, mental as well as intellectual growth of the learners.
