There is no doubt that higher education aims at the comprehensive development of the youth; at the same time, it should contribute to nation building at all levels. Assessing and assuring quality of higher education in India still remains a Challenge in spite of governmental intervention and investment in education. Higher education means much more than the mere acquisition of knowledge; it is acquisition of higher learning and skills, building of character as well as enabling employability of our young talent, the future leadership. The evolution of Assumption College over the past sixty-seven years has been steady, adapting to the times for the most part, within the constraints of affiliation. But more recently, through attaining the autonomous status, we look forward to imparting excellence in the higher education we provide, incorporating greater space for creativity and innovation. Reforms at every level aim to improve efficiency and relevance.
